A silo

is a structure for storing bulk materials. Silos are used in agriculture to store grain or fermented feed known as silage.

Due to their vertical alignment, tower silos drastically reduce the storage area while allowing large quantities of stored material. They also provide high protection from such external environmental factors as humidity, rain and snow.
